Along with our normal business meeting, the MHA strives to add value to each of our quarterly meetings.  We try to do this by promoting products and getting an industry speaker for each meeting.  Each meeting has a different speaker presenting a program that can potentially benefit membership and one that can inform us on transportation issues.

 Opportunities are constantly presenting themselves and we are always open to looking for new ideas.  If you have a product or service that you think will benefit the Machinery Haulers Association, please contact our secretary, Reggie Mutter, with some information.

Below is a list of some of the companies which have presented programs or informed us on various industry topics at previous meetings.

Chris Burruss, President & John Kaburick, 2nd Vice Chairman  Mr. Burruss addressed many issues revolving around today's trucking companies and items in legislation.
Mr. Kaburick presented a benchmarking program that would involve members of the MHA.
John Albrecht and Nick Erdman, National Sales  Addressed the increasing issues surrounding cargo theft, securing supply chain/terminal fleet/drivers and alert systems.
Tony Albainy, Director - Fleet Sales Spoke on the tough economic climate in the truckstop industry and the latest in fuel markets and fuel alternatives.
William Prester, President and Managing Principal Covered the latest insurance offerings and markets.  Looked at the future of insurance and explained why markets become 'soft' or 'hard' and what to expect in the coming months.
Kelly Anderson, President & CEO Explained his programs both with !mpact and the Society of Recruiting and Retention Professionals.  Covered proactive recruiting and retention techniques.
Matt Amen, Vice President and Matt Harris, VP - Fleet Services Mr. Amen spoke in regard to a new Medical, Dental and Vision program for owner operators.  Mr. Harris presented the ATBS truck leasing program.
Peter VanDyne, Technical Director Transportation "Best Practices for Crash Avoidance" - Identify and quantify the successful actions of trucking companies, and provide benchmarks for comparing your results with other trucking companies.
Tom Pontzius Sleep disorders and the trucking industry - specifically sleep apnea.  Upwards of 50% of drivers suffer.  There are options for testing and treatment to improve this disease.
Cathy Sokolowski, Regional Sales Manager Largest number of fuel stops in the nation has a discounted fuel program which includes no service charges/fees on the fuel cards.

Karen J. Bryant, Director of Sales - North Central Risk management and liability reduction solutions for the transportation industry.  Their product M5K can remotely monitor a vehicle and intervene to take control and disengage a vehicle if necessary.  Anti-theft mechanism.
Matt Harris, VP - Fleet Services & Richard DeForest Owner Operator Budgeting, Bookkeeping, Income Statements, Industry comparisons, Tax preparation, consulting and overall profitability and success.
Bruce Weiss, Executive VP - Instructional Technologies Driving safety training.  Computer and interactive training.  Has over 35 different lessons for training in safety.
Rob Yuronich, Midwest Sales Representative Outsourcing solutions provided by J. J. Keller - Permit services, drug screening, qualification files, etc.
Mediator - Carol Caruso, Director of Risk Management Services, Truck Group How NOT to lose your company in one accident!  Panelists: Keith Dunlap, President of NTA & Jamie Lane, Attorney, Smith-Amundson
Robert Corey, Regional Manager, IMI Technology Equal is a tire balancing product that reduces vibration and promotes even tire wear.
Jeff Whalin, Regional Sales Manager Driver background checks, criminal records and drug screening
Duane Acklie, CEO Acklie Group & former President of the ATA Has a history and knowledge in transportation, spoke directly toward fuel surchage and toll roads.
Chris Burruss, President General state of the transportation industry with updates on HOS, EOBRs & independent contractor status.
